VISION STATEMENT
Project 10 envisions lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) students as fully included and affirmed in the public school environment where justice, equality, and respect for all prevail.
MISSION
Friends of Project 10 Inc. is a youth-focused nonprofit organization that supports programs, both in and out of school, which emphasize nondiscrimination and equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth. The organization produces positive and affirming LGBT youth events, conducts trainings and workshops for school personnel and community groups on LGBT youth issues, and promotes anti-harassment and non-discrimination school policies. Friends of Project 10 Inc. works to assure that public schools (and schools receiving public funding) are in compliance with state and federal laws regarding sexual orientation and gender identity.
ADVOCACY
We collaborate with the following organizations to advocate for the understanding and implementation of laws and policies that make our schools safe for all students:
The American Civil Liberties Union, Lambda Legal, LAUSD Project 10, L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, LifeWorks, Anti-Defamation League, Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, LA LGBT Youth Advisory Council, The Trevor Project, and several other agencies and organizations.
